So you want to know more about The Chris Marks Band?
Chris Marks Band came together like all great recipes; a little of this, a little of that and a lot of imagination. In the beginning the band initially adopted the name Hillbilly Deluxe. It was an off the cuff reference that jokingly referred to the bands members but not the quality or style of their music. After 3 years under the HBD banner the band decided to change gears with a new brand.
Although a relatively new band name, Chris Marks Band is not a new band. They are all seasoned, professional performers. with a combined musical background of over 30 years. The drummer, bass player and lead guitarist have all performed in numerous individual projects and had just recently been working together as a "group" on another to combine their diverse backgrounds. This was an awesome mixture of styles including bluegrass, rock and southern rock.
In 2006 their latest collaboration was winding down, but the guys were not ready to go their separate ways. Chris Marks a close friend and fellow musician suggested that they work together. They had worked together briefly in the past but were all committed to other groups. Now that everyone was available it felt like a good time to seize the opportunity. With the addition of Chris's country/ southern rock lead vocals, they were ready to get to work.
In the short time they have been together, they have booked over 80 shows with little to no promotion. Word of mouth has been their only herald and the response to the band has been over whelming! Now with a new website, merchandise and a new demo due out in October things are looking to open up even more.
Be sure to look out for these guys and get out to show! You won't be sorry.
